Kim and Markus – A Swedish Occasion

Date: 5 May 2008
Venue: Lanzerac

A South African bride and a Swedish groom made for a wedding filled with a variety of traditions and customs!

Kim and Markus decided to get married in the historical town of Stellenbosch in the old Mother church which has been part of the town almost since it was founded. Kim arrived at the church in a creamy Rolls Royce and was walked down the isle by her adoring mother who handed her over to a wide smiling groom, Markus. The couple and their guests were serenaded by a local men’s choir who learnt the chosen songs the couple requested for their ceremony.

The couple then walked through the vineyards of Lanzerac wine farm. Whilst sipping their champagne they were photographed with their retinue and then alone for their romantic shoot as husband and wife.

The wedding celebration kicked off with many toasts, a projector presentation of the couple’s lives leading up to their special day and then Markus handing his new mother in law the traditional “Labola” in the form of a painted ornamental cow!

Fire performers and zulu dancers raised the energy levels through the roof and the guests both local and international alike went home with shoes in their hands and smiles on their faces.
