Lei and Dijon – Rustic Romance!
When Lei and Dijon started planning their wedding they kept saying that the most important thing on the day regardless of anything else that happened was saying their vows. Dijon was a very relaxed groom and let Lei take control of the wedding ship and so we planned this casual, yet magnificent, detailed wedding in Franschoek which reflected their different personalities perfectly.
The winelands was an obvious choice for both of them since they spend so many weekends there and once they visited La Brasserie they knew they had found their venue for their relaxed and casual wedding.
There was no theme as such, but rather a combination of colours and textures due to Lei’s design background. Ribbons were hung everywhere, wooden hearts were tied to branches in the trees as well as stunning fabrics chosen by Lei to set the ceremony scene. Instead of the traditional chairs, we used benches for the guests with lovely silver pillows specially made for the occasion and guests helped themselves to a variety of drinks all cooling on ice in a massive trough at the ceremony. Lei and Dijon are by no means traditional and did not want uniformity and so different fabrics were used on the tables designed and printed for their wedding along with many vases filled with different flowers in keeping with the theme.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and drinks overlooking the vineyards and were then escorted into a Bedouin tent for dinner and dancing. Food was also an important factor as Dijon’s family are Italian and so the finest, freshest ingredients were used to create a palatable meal for all! Delicious cupcakes were also a centrepiece and everyone enjoyed taking one once the main meal was over and the dancing began!
The couple’s friends and family enjoyed the day so much that they called them the next day to thank them profusely saying that the energy was electric and that they enjoyed the feeling of love flowing in the air all day! . A hugely successful wedding day! Congratulations again!!
